How we built a better Tank Trailer Partner
The company that would eventually become Pelican Worldwide was founded in 1984 as an ISO tank container
builder based in The Netherlands. Over the next decade, a series of business model changes resulted in a tank
leasing operation and launched a depot for repair and maintenance, eventually re-branding as Pelican Supply &
Trading. The opportunity to begin manufacturing parts became a reality in 2000 and allowed diversification into
the United States and Singapore. Reflecting this global expansion, our company name was updated to Pelican
Worldwide.
In 2007, Pelican made an important next step by introducing parts for Pneumatic Trailers in the United States.
Rapidly building on this success over the next five years, we introduced a wide range of parts for chemical, fuel,
and vacuum Tank Trailers. Pelican quickly grew in market share, and in 2012 custom-built a 38k square-foot
facility in Houston, Texas to serve as the home of our manufacturing, production, and warehouse headquarters for
North America.
To increase our manufacturing capacity and keep up with demand, Pelican Worldwide designed and built a
state-of-the-art facility in Wuxi, China. The ability to control our supply chain means we always have quality
manufactured parts in stock.
The Pelican team is now increasing our engineering efforts to give total solutions in both ISO Tank Container and
Tank Trailer Markets across the globe. These engineering collaborations include long-standing customers and new
partners in OEM fabrications across Europe, The Middle East, Asia, and The Americas.
